Summer Volunteering Opportunities – London 2012 Trailblazers
Volunteering is at the heart of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. As well as needing volunteers at Games-time, they are also needed in the lead up to the Games. Office-based volunteers, known as Trailblazers, work within the office of the London 2012 Organising Committee (LOCOG) in Canary Wharf, performing a wide range of administration duties as required by all departments.
They are currently looking for more individuals to fill 12 volunteer roles, branded as Trailblazers, as part of the pre-Games volunteer programme. Trailblazers will need to have a wide range of skills and experience and therefore LOCOG want to appeal to all areas of the community to ensure they attract a diverse range of applicants. They are looking to give at least 2 of the volunteer roles to students. This is a great opportunity to get involved in Olympic-related volunteering this summer, and despite not meaning you will get a guaranteed interview or volunteer role for the actual games, the experience will look great on your application and CVs generally.
To find out more details on these roles, please register as a volunteer, log-in and search for ‘Trailblazers’. Once you have applied on the website, you will then need to fill in a more detailed application form.
N.B. The deadline for applications to be received by London 2012 is within the next 2 weeks so please act quickly to avoid disappointment!
